Frequently Asked Questions

What is the price?

Depending on the vehicle, range and other options, our rate is typically $40-$100k. Everything we do is customized for you.  After conversion, you can drive your favorite car for the next 40 years!

What does it include?

It includes complete conversion from a gas/ICE car to an EV. The higher priced conversions can include features such as backup camera, power steering, power brakes and air conditioning.  We have been fabricating for 40 years, which means we can build or modify anything! For example – a whole new chassis with modern suspension to put your old car on top of.

What kind of batteries do you use?

We are using batteries from Tesla, Fiat or Chevy Volt: depending on the installation space of the car.

What type of cars can you convert?

Let’s talk about it!  We typically convert classic cars that are 1975 and older as well as some newer luxury cars. We’ve converted DeLorean, Porsche, Triumph Spitfire, Mustang, VW Samba and Kombi, motorcycles, art cars for Burning Man, golf cart and other eccentric vehicles.

Why classic cars?

Newer cars have more plastic and rubber, such as the bumpers. Classic cars are more durable, have more metal, and tend to have the replacement parts we can find, such as chrome bumpers. Newer cars have more electric and system integration so it is going to get super expensive, or we cannot guarantee that some parts of the car will work properly after the conversion (such as anti-lock brakes or airbags).

What is the lead time?

Anywhere from 4-7 months but this really depends on the car, please contact us.

What are some different services that the shop provides for cars?

Anything you want to do with your car is possible! We can make it look retro or modern, add NACS charging ports, anything is possible.
